“It’s my dream fulfilled.” says Francis, who began his first semester studying Electrical Engineering at Nairobi University. Andy, Caroline, Maire, Robbie, Petra, Reverend Pinot and Cecilia, THANK YOU for making this possible.... Francis left school with excellent results but as a child from a very poor single parent family, the prospect of further education remained a distant dream. He was working menial jobs to make ends meet when he was mentioned to Raha by Cecilia, our advisor and regular supporter. Sponsors came forward and Francis is now at University.

Bernard who is deaf completed his apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery with the help of Raha supporters. Raha provided the capital and tools for him to begin his own business. He is now the proud owner of his own carpentry workshop. Also…… 30 students at Tania completed their primary school leaving exams. Daksha spent the day with them planning ahead with food, cake and soda. It was a good end to one chapter in education that marks the beginning of a brighter future.......

In Kenya, things are busy, with preparation for the holiday season underway. Essential supplies are being stocked up at the homes and schools Raha works with. We are also on a drive to carry out an eye camp in Kenya, February 11th to 17th 2010. Though all skills and expenses will be paid for by volunteers themselves, Raha will need to pay for the cost of surgery for those who need it. All donation towards the cost of these would be welcome. THANK YOU.
